Craft Cases at the Hazlitt Theatre
Liberty Gallery is hosting some of my jewellery in the Craft Cases at the Hazlitt Theatre box office in Rose Yard off Earl Street, Maidstone. The centre is open 10.00-6.00pm (closed Sunday).
Working in collaboration with Sarah Robson, Arts Development Manager for Maidstone Borough Council, the Craft Cases are a perfect stage for contemporary pieces designed and created in Kent today.
Work by four other artists includes:
Cas Holmes, textile artist based in Maidstone, Jenny Fairweather, printmaker from Aylesford, Fiona Flynn, glass artist from Downswood and Sonya Oke, textile jeweller from Maidstone. This work forms part of the Maidstone Contemporary Art, Craft and Design Exhibition at the Graham Clark Gallery from the 30th November - 31st December

Artist Open Houses - Brighton - May 2010
The main Open Houses Festival takes place over the first four weekends in May, during the Brighton Festival. More than 1,000 artists exhibit their work at over 200 venues, spread across the city of Brighton and Hove and the surrounding area. This is the biggest event of its kind in the country and has been running since Ned Hoskins first opened his house to the public in 1982.
In 2010, the festival dates will be May 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th, 22nd and 23rd.
This year I have been invited to share with 5 other artists at 8 Rosehill Terrace in the Beyond the Level trail. My jewellery will be on display from 12 - 6pm each weekend and I will be at the venue part of the time - more details when I know more!
This year I will be sharing a new studio with Felicity Flutter and Sue Scullard at Guernsey Cottage, Wisley Green, Cranbrook, Kent TN17 2LG.
This is a temporary studio for all of us but we will bring all our workshop essentials and will continue to demonstrate as much as possible. This year I'm hoping to show you how to make hollow silver beads and display my new enamelling work.
We will be open from 10am to 5pm from Wednesday 9th to Saturday 12th and then from Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th. This year we are also having an evening opening on Thursday 10th from 6 until 8.30pm. We are not open every day because we also like to visit Open Studios, however if you cannot find a time slot to suit get in touch and we can work something out.
I look forward to South East Open Studios: the majority of my work is sold through shops and galleries so its a wonderful opportunity to meet people and pass on some of the knowledge I have accumulated over the years. I find sharing a studio incredibly stimulating - inspiration flows and I find I can't work fast enough.
